RESEARCH EXPERIENCE  Study of Pyometra in Bitches carried out at Surgery and Microbiology Research Laboratories: MAFSU, August 2015- April 2016 o Twenty bitches affected with Pyometra were studied in order to identify the clinical signs, diagnostic measures, causes and treatment ways. Thirteen cases were caused due to Streptococccus and Staphylococcus, and the remaining were caused due to Compylobacteria. o Ultra-sonography technique was used to identify common symptoms that are early abortions within 2 months of time, distended uterine horns and presence of pus in uterus. o Hysterectomy surgery and injection of clinical drugs were used as treatment measures. o Cultural tests concluded that the Pyometra causing organisms were sensitive towards bacteria C in 9 cases and towards bacteria AK in 4 cases. o In physiological tests blood parameters showed an increase in levels of WBC up to 50,000/mm3, Eosinophil to 18,000/mm3, and decrease in levels of RBC to 4 g/dl and Lymphocyte to 9%. o Biochemistry tests showed an increase in levels of creatinine to 4mg/dl, blood urea nitrogen to 55mg/dl, and decrease in the level of serum Glutamic Oxaloacetic Transaminase (SGOT) 45 IU/L. 
