LEICESTERSHIRE -Our clients are an independent 6 vet practice, and they passionately believe in providing their clients with an excellent service.
They are a happy, friendly team with loads of experience (one CertAVP holder, one GPCert ultrasound and surgery holder, one person in the final module of the Cert AVP for orthopaedics) and they are happy to provide support for less experienced colleagues. They are happy to support CPD and further certificates.
Their recently refurbished premises are well-equipped including ultrasound, ECHO, laparoscopic kit for key-hole surgery, bronchoscope, gastroscope, in-house biochemistry, haematology, urine and acid-base analysers, multi-parameter monitors, digital and dental radiography. They are an ISFM Gold Standard Cat Friendly Practice and they participate in the RCVS practice standards scheme.
The role involves participation in a 1 in 6 equally shared rota with excellent time off in lieu. They still do our own on call. At weekends they have a surgery on Saturdays until 1pm and then are available for emergencies only until Monday morning. The on-call vet is not expected to stay on-site and can travel from home to see emergencies.
The salary package is commensurate with experience and can include accommodation in a 3-bed house 5 minutes from the surgery.
Whilst they would prefer an experienced graduate there is ample support available to accommodate a new graduate.
Their location is rural location but is close to the bright lights of Leicester, Nottingham, Derby and Birmingham. Excellent local leisure facilities are available in the National Forest and Peak District. And for those wishing to travel there are fantastic road, rail and air links (Birmingham and East Midlands airports
