HONG KONG – Night vet sought for the Ark 24-hour hospital in Hong Kong
Our client has been caring for Hong Kong pets for over 20 years. The full-service hospital has 24-hour emergency care, digital x-ray, Doppler ultrasound, ICU, surgical microscope, flexible endoscope plus a team of certified nursing staff.
The Hospital services both the wider veterinary profession as well as their other additional 8 hospitals across Hong Kong.
Currently there are 7 vets attending the hospital who routinely work early and late shifts. The emergency night shift is from 8pm to 8am, alternating 3 or 4 nights per week. Whilst Cantonese is advantageous it is definitely not essential as both a bi-lingual night veterinary technician and reception are in attendance.
General practitioners with 1 year of experience can apply and will be provided with a rigorous induction, though experience, especially emergency experience, is advantageous.
The Hospital has an intern program nurturing new graduates as they develop into general practitioners.
Their culture focuses on team values and clinical support typified by the clinical development program that focuses on providing training across the team whilst supporting the development of clinical leaders in imaging, internal medicine and surgical disciplines.
Putting the welfare of our patients first and advancing the field of veterinary medicine are fundamental to the Doctors Beck & Stone approach to supporting local communities to become responsible pet owners through education and outreach.
Hong Kong is a vibrant city and is both the gateway to China mainland and an excellent travelling base for Asia. Whilst tower blocks feature regularly in blockbuster movies there are few world cities where hills are a hike out of the central business district and beaches a ferry ride away.
In this truly international city whilst rent is high it is off-set by a 15% tax rate and there is a diverse range of options with commuting distances being rarely over 40 minutes, more commonly 10-20 minutes on the excellent public transport system.
